Featured Photographer

Our first Featured Photographer J.S. Featured Photographers a new section introduced this month) is Katrina Cole, her work falls within the Genre of Abstract or Fine Art Photography, she describes it specifically as “Alternative Art Photography”.

New Age Photography
An exhibition is being shown in the Cyber Gallery by a young photographer Katarzyna Krzywania, It’s entitled Cutting Edge-2006. It is So New, So Modern, So cutting Edge in content, it embraces no style of the past or even the present, it is of the future, it is not trendy God forbid; it is New, The New Talent we said you would see on this Site.
Trendies of course die as soon as they are born; they have no style, no style of their own the adopted trend is their style, no substance, no value, vacuous creatures. Experience and knowledge which give value and substance to any endeavour are absent and they eschew such values.
So take note of Katarzyna Krzywania, she is not trendy, she has style and her work has substance and value.

Art Photography
Take a look at an Exhibition in the Cyber Gallery entitled Within-Without.  Art Photography at its best and most creative, this is the work of a young lady photographer Christina Foulger. It is of outstanding quality

Essays
Eggleston :
“Eggleston was the leading apostle of colour photography in the 1970’s one of a group of brave artists who pursued like a subversive faith their belief in colour.”

Such was the utter nonsense written in the Times by Joanna Pitman who it seems should be noted by her Ignorance of that of which she writes on Photography.

Diane Arbus :
Misrepresented- Misunderstood- Misinterpreted-by both her critics who seem to be conned by her “estate” and by the administrators of her “estate” who, as are many others in the business, simply interested in their percentage.

The Paparazzi:
“The chroniclers of today’s society encouraged and disparaged at the same time.”

Is photographic knowledge an attribute you would expect of the modern Photographic Agent? If it is, in many cases you are likely to be very disappointed.

Criticism
Sontag:
“A Journalist of Stature. But she shows, I feel in her Critiques on Photography an aesthetic awareness rather than a visual literacy.”

Food Photography:
“It is astonishing how so many of the new people of today connected with the photography of food seem to be so visually illiterate”
