SUBMISSION OF MATERIAL We have no minimum requirement in the number of transparencies submitted for any particular submission, but we would suggest that you plan to submit at least 1,000 transparencies or digital images during each year if you wish to receive a reasonable return on sales.
35mm Material All 35mm material must be mounted in card or plastic mounts, never glass. Please caption on one of the broad edges of the mount. All other areas of the mount to be left clear. Please do not place your name, address or any other information on any part of the mount.
All other Formats Submit mounted or unmounted.
Please place the caption on the mount or place the transparency in a transparent envelope of some kind and place the caption on the envelope (on a label attached to the envelope).
Digital Material Digital Files can be submitted either by e-mail or by CD-ROM. The specifics as to the type of files acceptable or required in particular areas can still vary considerably so please contact us in the first instance to check on the current situation. Material produced and supplied in Digital Form will soon become the standard and we welcome enquiries from photographers who have changed to Digital Photography or are contemplating the change.
Posting of Material We suggest you send material by recorded delivery. Please include postage for return of unwanted material.
Payment of Commission We pay to the photographer 50% of all reproduction fees received. We pay during the month following receipt of the fees. Payments are of course, accompanied by a statement of sales.
Subject Matter
We accept all subject matter, but whatever subject you choose we would like to see at least 10 shots, or as many as you wish, of the one general subject at any one time.
General Comments The only reason you send your material in is that you hope that we can make some sales on your behalf and that you can make some money in return.
The only way you will make any reasonable amount of money on a regular basis is if you supply us with a reasonable amount of material on a regular basis. We cannot stress this too highly.
Send us material every two or three weeks if you can or every month or two months. Try your best to make a regular contribution as often as possible. Photograph anything and everything.
All news and current affairs, commercial affairs, leisure and recreation, the performing arts, film and television celebrities, all sports, all personality and social events. Scenes of the world including where you live. People at play and at work. Think in terms of illustrating an encyclopaedia and photograph all that you think might be required. Never think that we do not want a picture of some particular subject or object. Simply make sure your pictures are exposed correctly, are sharp, properly composed and mounted and captioned as noted.
